Together with LEFÖ-IBF, IG24 organised the conference ‘Care4Care: From precarious to safe working conditions in personal care in Austria’. Numerous participants and experts discussed current working conditions in personal care, the legal framework and the employment model on site and online.

The conference was moderated by DI Shams Asadi, Head of the Human Rights Office in Vienna.
After the introductory presentation on ‘The current system of caregiving in Austria’ by Dr Sangeetha Manavalan-Thoppil, there was information and a panel discussion on ‘Safe migration and the needs of caregivers’ with Roxana Radulescu and Ilona Farkašová (activists and long-term caregivers), followed by the presentation of and a panel discussion on strategy papers from Austria, Slovakia and Romania, with Simona Durisova, Barbora Holubova and Irina Ilisei. The studies carried out as part of the Care4Care project were then presented, followed by an expert discussion on the employment model in personal care in Austria with Dr Maria Sagmeister, Erika Kovacs, Dr Peter C. Schöffmann and Leokadia Grolmus BA, and another panel discussion.
