This policy paper was written as a part of the Care4Care project. It focuses on the results of the expert analysis of regular employment of carers in Austria as an alternative model to self-employment.
Together with project partners from Slovakia (CELSI) and Romania (FEMINIST FRONT), the two largest sending countries, recommendations for safe labour migration have been developed, which strongly point to international cooperation between Austria as a destination country and Slovakia and Romania as sending countries. Since the labour migration of caregivers is also characterised by the activities of placement and transport agencies, some recommendations are aimed at monitoring and controlling these agencies. The proposals were formulated on the basis of research and discussions with various stakeholders (interest groups, NGOs and experts) in Slovakia and Romania.
